I hope everyone had a great weekend. Thanks to my husband, I was able to take a 2-hour nap today while he played with the kids. Sometimes, I think he is better at playing with the kids than I am.
Ilia went for her skating lesson before church this morning and I’m amazed at how far she’s come along. She can skate backwards really well now. This week we’ll need to get her a new pair of skates. She complained that her skates hurt after a while. Maybe this time we can get away with a less expensive hockey skates instead. When she first started skating, we were renting the skates from the area, and they were figure skating skates, so they have the flat blade and the jagged front which would help her keep her balance when she wasn’t moving. When we went to get her a pair of her own skates, we first got hockey skates. When she tried skating with them, she kept falling and then refused to skate with them. So we ended up getting a pair of figure skating skates from a professional figure skating shop. They were her most expensive shoes, but at least she loved them and got to use them for 8 months.
We haven’t dug out Caelasia and Bobby yet, but we’ll probably do it tomorrow. We’ll first need to get a box ready for them, so that when they come out, they won’t fly away.
